In July 2022, a new adventure trail was inaugurated at the original site of the battle. The “Lützen 1632 Battlefield Trail” leads from the Gustav Adolf Memorial along seven kilometers of field paths to the town of Lützen. The battle can be brought to life using the digital tour. Along the way, nine stations with life-size metal silhouettes invite visitors to pause and use the digital app to trace the stories of the battle's protagonists. Among other things, visitors can hear the bloodcurdling battle cry of the infamous Finnish Hakkapelite cavalry unit and learn how the Imperial Field Marshal zu Pappenheim experienced his last minutes.
